UX Research
1. Understanding the Niche E-commerce Landscape
We researched the unique challenges of selling 3D printed products online to identify key opportunities:
- Visual Trust is Paramount: Since customers cannot physically inspect the items, high-resolution imagery and detailed product views are crucial to convey quality and craftsmanship.
- Clarity in Complexity: Many products have custom options (e.g., materials, sizes). The interface must handle these variants in a simple, intuitive way.
- Building a Brand: For a new, niche store, the design itself must communicate professionalism and reliability to convert first-time visitors into customers.
